Maharani ki Chhatri, Jaipur is one of the greatest attractions here. This site houses some very beautiful cenotaphs built in the memory of various ladies of the royal family of Jaipur. The chhatris vary from one another. You will find some very attractively carved cenotaphs in this royal crematorium with typical royal chhatris. The cenotaphs are constructed of various materials. Like come cenotaphs are constructed with marble, while for others local stones have been used. The grand cenotaphs of the royal ladies are evidence of the status and importance of these women among the nobility of Jaipur.
Visiting Hours
Maharani ki Chhatri is open on all days except Holi. It is preferred that you make your visit between 9.30 am to 4.30 pm. You need not pay anything to pay a visit to this historical site. Admission charge is free. You need not even pay anything for taking a snap of this magnificent architecture.
Getting Here
Getting to Maharani ki Chhatri is not difficult. Tourists can either take local buses from various points within the city to reach the monument or they can hire rickshaws, tempos and taxis. The nearest airport is Jaipur Airport and the nearest railway station is the Jaipur Railway Station.
